Gimpo City reroutes 1002 bus to improve Gold Valley Industrial Complex commutes
Gimpo City has announced a reorganization of the 1002 city bus route, effective October 1, to improve commuting conditions for workers at the Gimpo Gold Valley Industrial Complex. Through cooperation with Incheon Metropolitan City, the new route will connect the industrial complex with Incheon Subway Lines 1 and 2.
The bus depot will move from its current location near Wanjeong Intersection in Incheon's Seo-gu district to a new depot in Daepo-ri, Yangchon-eup, Gimpo. The route will be extended from the Marine Corps 2nd Division entrance, passing through key stops including Izen Techno Zone, Hwanggeum Industrial Complex 3 Intersection, Geomdan Oryu Station, and Wanggil Station.
To improve operational efficiency, the route will be shortened in the Seoul section, specifically removing the segment between the National Assembly and Gwanghwamun Station, which saw low usage from Gimpo residents. Mayor Lee Ki-hyung stated that the city's transportation policy focuses on enhancing citizen convenience and aims to continue improving bus services through ongoing route adjustments.
