Gimpo International Airport marble ceiling material falls in departure lobby

Marble finishing material fell from a ceiling at Gimpo International Airport's domestic terminal in South Korea. The incident occurred near the entrance of the departure lobby on the third floor, a high-traffic area where passengers constantly pass through.

No injuries were reported. Following the incident, the Korea Airports Corporation cordoned off the area with barricades and covered the damaged section with cloth. The affected area had undergone remodeling in 2017, less than ten years ago. The corporation plans to conduct a detailed inspection to determine the cause of the collapse and evaluate the structural condition of the facility.
