Gimpo Mayor Lee Ki-hyung launches mobile office to meet citizens

Gimpo Mayor Lee Ki-hyung has launched a mobile mayor's office initiative, ‘Mayor is ON!’, to engage directly with citizens in their daily environments rather than waiting for visitors in a formal office.

The first session took place on August 28 at Gurae Station on the Gimpo Goldline, a high-traffic area during evening commutes. During the two-hour event, approximately 50 civil complaints and suggestions were collected, ranging from local infrastructure issues like drainage and intersection lane markings to social welfare, illegal parking enforcement, and youth policies.

Mayor Lee stated that the principle of the 9th civil election administration in Gimpo is communication, emphasizing that all policies should originate from the citizens. The city plans to continue this outreach through scheduled sessions at Gimpo Art Village on September 5, the Tongjin public parking lot on September 18, and the Gimpo Five-Day Market on September 22.
