Gina H. on trial for killing 8‑year‑old Fabian in Güstrow, Germany

Eight‑year‑old Fabian disappeared from his mother’s apartment in Güstrow on 10 October 2025. Four days later his body was discovered at a pond near Klein Upahl. Prosecutors charge 30‑year‑old Gina H. with luring the child, stabbing him at least six times and setting fire to the corpse with an accelerant to destroy evidence.

The trial at the Landgericht Rostock entered its 14th day, with police officer Dennis K. and witness Heike M. – a long‑time friend of the accused – testifying. Heike M. said H. tried to stage the discovery with her dogs, asked her to photograph the burned body and used her as an alibi. Police seized H.’s mobile phone after initial resistance and discussed the handling of the device in court. H. is escorted in leg‑irons each day and remains under investigation pending a verdict.
