Gina Hinojosa campaigns across Texas ahead of gubernatorial election

Democratic gubernatorial nominee Gina Hinojosa held campaign rallies in Waco and El Paso as the election approaches. In Waco, Hinojosa addressed supporters at The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill, where she criticized incumbent Republican Governor Greg Abbott and pledged to secure the ‘American dream’ through policy changes.

Key campaign priorities mentioned by Hinojosa include saving Texas public schools and increasing teacher pay by ending vendor contracts linked to the school voucher system. She also proposed replacing Education Commissioner Mike Morath with an experienced educator.

In El Paso, Hinojosa held a rally at the University of Texas at El Paso alongside New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and former U.S. Congressman Beto O'Rourke. During the event, she urged young voters to increase turnout in major metropolitan areas. Hinojosa is seeking to become the first Democratic governor of Texas since 1991.
