Gina Hinojosa discusses priorities in Texas gubernatorial race

Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa is gaining momentum in a race that was previously considered a foregone conclusion. Recent polling indicates the contest has tightened, with several polls placing the race within the margin of error.

Hinojosa, a state lawmaker and attorney, has centered her campaign on the argument that the Texas government has become too responsive to corporate interests and wealthy donors. She advocates for a post-partisan approach to address public disappointment in both major political parties.

Key policy issues highlighted in her campaign include the funding of public schools. Hinojosa noted that funding challenges have contributed to issues in the education system, including instances where school districts have been forced to operate on shortened schedules.
