Gina Rinehart buys $8m Brisbane office for One Nation headquarters

Billionaire Gina Rinehart has purchased an $8 million three-storey office building in Spring Hill, Brisbane, which will serve as the new headquarters for Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party. The property was acquired through Hanrine Investments, a subsidiary of Rinehart’s mining firm Hancock Prospecting.

One Nation plans to relocate from its current location near Brisbane Airport to the new Wharf Street site once fit-out works are complete. One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce defended the arrangement, denying any conflict of interest and stating that the party will pay market-rate rent rather than receiving subsidized or free space. A spokesperson for Hancock Prospecting confirmed that the company is not providing discounted rent to any political or other tenants.

Rinehart is a significant financial supporter of One Nation. Previous contributions from the mining magnate include a private jet valued at approximately $1.5 million and sponsorship for Senator Hanson’s travel to Europe. The move comes as recent polling suggests rising political support for the party.
