Gina Rodriguez and Justin Baldoni to star in boxing film House of Guerrero

Gina Rodriguez and Justin Baldoni are reuniting for House of Guerrero, a boxing film that marks Rodriguez’s theatrical directorial debut. The project is the first professional collaboration between the former ‘Jane the Virgin’ co-stars since their time on the CW series.

Written by Bernardo Cubría and based on an original concept by Cubría and Rodriguez, the film follows a young boxer whose career is interrupted, only to receive a final opportunity to fight for the life he believed was lost. Wayfarer Studios described the project as a “boxing film for a new generation” intended to provide a fresh perspective on the sport and its communities.

Baldoni will produce the film through Wayfarer Studios alongside Andrew Calof, while Rodriguez will serve as both director and producer through I Can And I Will Productions. The production features fight choreography by Clayton J. Barber, known for work on ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Creed’, and Eric Brown, associated with the ‘John Wick’ and ‘Matrix’ franchises.
