Gina Rodriguez directs boxing drama House of Guerrero

Gina Rodriguez has begun production on House of Guerrero, a boxing drama that marks her feature-film directorial debut. The film is being produced in Los Angeles and California’s Imperial Valley.

The project features a reunion of the Jane the Virgin cast, with Justin Baldoni joining Rodriguez and Jaime Camil on set. The cast also includes Rosario Dawson, George Lopez, Becky G, Tokischa, Carlos Sanson Jr., and Emily Austin. Musical artists Chino Pacas, Clave Especial, and Vic Blends have also joined the production.

Based on an original story by Rodriguez and Bernardo Cubría, the film follows a once-promising young boxer attempting to return to the ring. Fight choreography is being led by Clayton J. Barber and Eric Brown.
