Philippe Prette wins third consecutive GT2 Masters Cup title

Philippe Prette has secured his third consecutive title in the Masters Cup of the GT2 European Series. Competing with the LP Racing team in a Maserati GT2, Prette clinched the championship at the Zandvoort circuit with one round to spare, accumulating 170 points.

The weekend in the Netherlands saw Ginetta vehicles dominate the overall standings, but Prette secured two class victories and two pole positions to seal his title. Maserati also saw success in the Pro Am Cup, with the LP Racing duo of Niccolò Pirri and Yu Lee Thomas finishing second.

In other motorsport news, the Repsol Ecorally A Coruña saw the Sammarinese crew Guido Guerrini and Artur Prusak forced to retire due to a tire failure during the ninth special stage. The race was won by Czech duo Michal Žďárský and Jakub Nábělek, who equaled the seasonal victory record.
