Gino Darderi details the sacrifices behind his sons' tennis careers

Gino Darderi has dedicated his life to the tennis careers of his sons, Luciano and Vito, serving as a single father, coach, sponsor, and advisor. After a playing career in Argentina and coaching in Rome, Gino focused entirely on his sons' development, managing the financial and technical aspects of their professional journeys.

To maintain technical independence, the family chose to forgo financial support and wild cards from the Italian Tennis Federation. This decision required significant personal sacrifice, including Gino managing rental properties in Argentina to fund international travel and tournament costs.

Luciano Darderi, born in Argentina but trained in Italy, has transitioned from a clay-court specialist to a competitive player on all surfaces. His father believes Luciano has the potential to reach the Top 10 and earn a spot on the Italian Davis Cup team. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Vito Darderi has recently begun earning his first ATP points.
