Gintarė Skaistė's dissertation under investigation for academic ethics

The Academic Ethics and Procedure Controller Service has received a complaint regarding potential violations of academic ethics by Gintarė Skaistė during the preparation of her doctoral dissertation at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU).

The complaint, received on August 10, raises questions concerning the originality of the text, discrepancies in calculations, and flaws in the presentation of results. The dissertation, titled ‘Institutional System Impact on Risk Capital Investment Valuation Model’, was defended at MRU in January 2016.

The Controller Service has transferred the complaint to MRU for investigation based on the principle of self-regulation. This procedure is used when a scientific or study institution has not previously been contacted regarding the alleged violations. Once the university has completed its investigation, it must inform the Controller Service of its decision. The Service may evaluate both the university's decision and the original complaint if the complainant disagrees with the outcome.
