Ginza club Nanae ordered to suspend operations for 60 days

The high-end Ginza membership club Nanae has been ordered to suspend operations for 60 days, effective from October 30 to December 28. The owner, Nanae Karasawa, also known as Nanae Mama, announced the suspension via her YouTube channel on October 29.

The disciplinary action follows a police investigation into street scouting activities conducted in January by a staff member under a service contract with the club. The scouting was found to be in violation of the Anti-Nuisance Ordinance. Both the staff member involved and the company's representative director were reportedly questioned by authorities.

Karasawa apologized to clients and supporters, acknowledging a lack of legal understanding and insufficient management and education of staff. She stated that she deeply regrets the lack of oversight as an owner. To prevent recurrence, she pledged to improve legal knowledge and implement continuous education for all staff members.
