Italian towns host a series of author talks and literary festivals

From early September the Biblioteca Civica in Saronno will open its Sala Community for free author presentations, a project called “Autori in Biblioteca” aimed at local writers. In the Tuscan town of Tirrenia the “Dialoghi d’autore” series continues with talks by Giancarlo Cesana and Erica Cassano, featuring new releases and discussions on education and literature.

The fourth edition of the NEON cultural festival in Martinsicuro concluded with a performance by Giobbe Covatta, highlighting books on environmental and societal themes. Similar literary gatherings took place across Italy: a presentation of Saverio Gangemi’s novel “Calùra” in Locri, a discussion of the Haiti‑focused work “Sogno di libertà” in Calimera, and the MaratealeInBook event linking cinema and literature in Maratea. Additional book launches were held in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Giuliano Pellizzari’s thriller “La terza clessidra”), Bagnasco (Salvatore Falzone’s “Il sale dei morti”), and the “Liberi Libri” series in Manfredonia, exploring local voices, landscapes and collective memory. These events reflect a nationwide emphasis on community‑based cultural programming and author‑reader engagement.
