Giochi del Titano investigation prompts transparency demands in San Marino
Opposition parties in San Marino—Repubblica Futura, Domani Motus Liberi, and Rete—have met with the Captains Regent to denounce the government for a lack of transparency regarding Giochi del Titano. The state-owned company, which is a vital source of public revenue and employs approximately 100 people, is currently at the center of a joint investigation by the Ravenna prosecutor's office and the San Marino court into the alleged laundering of 7.5 million euros.
Opposition leaders expressed concerns that the executive branch is managing critical political and economic dossiers behind closed doors, effectively excluding minority parties from decision-making. Nicola Renzi of Repubblica Futura emphasized the strategic importance of the company and called for measures to protect workers and the nation's reputation from further scandals. Additionally, Emanuele Santi of Rete claimed that serious issues within the company had been flagged as early as 2023 during anti-mafia commission hearings, but alleged that the government failed to take sufficient action.
