Gioia Vecchio begins restoration of historic Sant’Antonio Fountain

Restoration work has commenced on the historic Sant’Antonio Fountain in the Gioia Vecchio district of Gioia dei Marsi. The project is part of a broader initiative by the local administration, led by Mayor Gianluca Alfonsi, to recover and enhance the historical and cultural heritage of the ancient village.

The fountain is considered a symbol of the community’s collective memory and a testament to the daily life and traditions of past generations. This intervention was included in the municipal administration’s electoral program as a means to protect the architectural heritage of the area and promote local tourism.
