Giorgia Meloni shares video of migrant repatriations

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has shared a video on social media documenting police operations involving the repatriation of foreign nationals. In the footage, law enforcement officers escort individuals who have entered the country illegally and committed crimes onto aircraft for deportation.

Meloni stated that “in Italy, the rules are respected” and emphasized that those who commit crimes and have no right to remain will be expelled. She noted that her administration is working to strengthen controls, increase the effectiveness of expulsions, and ensure greater security for citizens.

The Prime Minister also addressed the political context in Germany following the growth of the AfD party. Meloni cautioned against making simple comparisons between the two nations, arguing that the German coalition government has struggled to provide clear directions on important issues, whereas her right-wing administration is actively providing responses to immigration concerns.
