Giorgio Armani legacy to be explored in new film and TV projects

Following the passing of fashion icon Giorgio Armani on September 4, 2025, two major film and television projects are set to chronicle his life. A biopic titled ‘Armani: The King of Fashion,’ directed by Bille August, is in development, alongside an event television series produced by Lux Vide and directed by Ferzan Özpetek.

Özpetek, a close friend of the designer, described Armani as a visionary artist and a determined individual. The productions aim to capture the multifaceted personality of the man who redefined modern elegance and famously dressed actors for iconic roles, such as in ‘American Gigolo.’

In addition to his cinematic legacy, details have emerged regarding Armani’s personal assets. His 65-meter black super yacht, named ‘Main,’ was built by the Italian shipyard Codecasa. The vessel, which is currently located in Porto Santo Stefano, Tuscany, has been left to his sister Rosanna and his niece and nephew, Andrea Camerana and Silvana Armani.
