Giorgio Armani: New authorized biography released

A new authorized biography of fashion designer Giorgio Armani, titled ‘Giorgio secondo Armani. La vita oltre il successo’, has been released by Marsilio publishing. The book was written by journalist Roberta Filippini, who began documenting the designer's life in 2014 after he approached her with a proposal to write his autobiography.

Although the initial manuscript was shelved for twelve years because Armani felt he was not yet ready to reveal such personal details, Filippini has revisited the material following his death. The final work, authorized by the Armani family, incorporates new testimonies and family photographs to provide a comprehensive look at the man behind the fashion icon, covering his childhood in Piacenza, his family history, and his personal reflections.

In addition to the book, a series directed by Ferzan Özpetek for Lux Vide is in development. Supported by the Armani maison, the production will utilize historical archives, creations, and locations to explore the designer's legacy.
