Giorgos Kapoutzidis' Satirical Play 'The Karýatida' Tours Greece

The comedy "The Karýatida" by playwright Giorgos Kapoutzidis opened at the Ancient Theatre of Philippi on 12 August as part of the 69th Festival of Philippi. Directed by Kateryna Mavrogeorgi, the production features a cast that includes Asimina Anastasopoulou, Stelios Iakovidis and others, with music by Larry Gus and design by Artemis Flessa and Ifigeneia Dountaki.

The play, a sharp political and social satire, will continue its summer tour across Greece. A key stop is Patras, where it will be staged at the Pampeloponnisiako Stadium on 27 August at 21:00. The Patras performance is organized in cooperation with ARK Productions and the National Theatre of Greece, maintaining the same creative team and satirical focus on contemporary Greek reality.
