Giorgos Mazonakis death investigation reveals propofol use and deleted digital records

Investigations into the death of singer Giorgos Mazonakis are intensifying following the discovery of propofol in his system. The singer died on September 9 after undergoing a plasmapheresis procedure at a private clinic in Kolonaki.

Digital forensics from the mobile phone of the accused doctor, Ioanna Gaka, revealed deleted messages and call logs, as well as searches on AI applications regarding how to revive a patient from sedation and the effects of propofol. A group chat among clinic employees also reportedly confirmed the administration of sedation and a sudden drop in the singer's blood pressure.

The Medical Association of Athens has requested a supplementary criminal prosecution against doctors Ioanna Gaka and Ilias Theodoropoulos, alleging false statements regarding medical equipment. Additionally, a hypnotherapist testified that Gaka remained indifferent to the emergency, stating she had another client when asked why she did not accompany the patient to the hospital.

Histopathological results indicate extensive myocardial ischemia occurred 8 to 12 hours before death. Meanwhile, the family's lawyer reported that a safe seized from the singer's residence was found to be empty.
