Giorgos Pitsilis discusses Greek tax reform at HEC Paris program

Giorgos Pitsilis, Governor of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR), participated as a high-level speaker in an international executive education program organized by HEC Paris for the Arab Monetary Fund. The program, titled ‘Tax Policy and Tax Administration’, focuses on modern challenges such as risk management, tax certainty, and taxation in the digital economy.

During his presentation, ‘Leadership, Reform and Institutional Resilience in the Public Sector: Lessons from the Independent Authority for Public Revenue’, Pitsilis shared insights from the transformation of the Greek tax and customs administration. He emphasized that institutional autonomy, accountability, organizational capacity, and trust are essential drivers for sustainable reform.

Pitsilis also highlighted the transformative role of technology, data, and Artificial Intelligence in tax administration. He noted that the effective use of these tools requires strong governance, organizational maturity, and investment in the human dimension of change, asserting that trust is a fundamental prerequisite for enhancing tax compliance.
