Giorgos Siakantaris criticizes Greek Left Alliance over political posts

Author Giorgos Siakantaris has distanced himself from the Greek Left Alliance (EL.A.S.) following social media posts regarding potential political cooperation between New Democracy and PASOK.

The dispute arose after Giorgos Balatsoukas, a deputy press representative for EL.A.S., shared an AI-generated image depicting Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis embracing. Siakantaris criticized the post, stating that such imagery diminishes political debate and describing the current state of politics as turning into a ‘Roman arena’ where ‘large animals tear apart the gladiators.’

Siakantaris noted that he would find an image of Mitsotakis embracing Alexis Tsipra equally distressing, emphasizing his disapproval of the manner in which political opposition is being presented.
