Giovani Democratici urge Lega to clarify school psychologist stance
Political debate has resurfaced in Friuli Venezia Giulia regarding the introduction of school psychologists. Ferdinando Santoro, regional secretary of the Giovani Democratici, has called on the Lega youth wing to clarify its stance in relation to Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara.
The tension follows a social media video by Beatrice De Pauli Falato, coordinator of Lega Giovani in Monfalcone, which promoted a legislative proposal signed by Lega deputy Giorgia Latini. The proposal suggests two mandatory hours per month with a school psychologist. However, Santoro noted that Minister Valditara previously dismissed the idea as a ‘sciocchezza’ (nonsense).
Santoro urged the Lega youth to use the Minister's upcoming visit to resolve this contradiction. He pointed out that the center-left had already pursued similar goals through a regional bill presented by counselor Laura Fasiolo, and challenged the Lega to either convince their minister of the proposal's merit or admit they do not support it.
