Giovanni Malagò defends FIGC election validity
Giovanni Malagò, the president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), has affirmed that his election was “valid and regular” despite facing opposition. Speaking at an event in Milan, Malagò noted that while his leadership has been contested before, during, and after the elections, he remains calm and views the situation as a normal part of the political process.
Malagò emphasized his role as an elected representative of civil society acting as a volunteer to defend the world of sport and football. He also expressed his support for Roberto Mancini, stating that there must be confidence in the coach, though he noted that results must still be proven on the field. Additionally, he commented positively on the performance and availability of young Italian talents and dual-nationality players.
