Giovanni Picchio dies suddenly at 47 during Ferragosto holiday

Giovanni Picchio, a 47-year-old professional and youth sports official from Fabriano, died suddenly during a Ferragosto lunch in Senigallia. The incident occurred at a bar on Lungomare Mameli while he was spending the holiday with family and friends.

Emergency responders, including an ambulance and specialized medical personnel, arrived quickly and performed resuscitation efforts, but were unable to save him. The exact cause of death is pending medical-legal investigations.

Picchio was an employee of Faber Vetreria and a prominent figure in the local sports community, serving as a director for the youth sector of the A.S.D. Fabriano Cerreto football club. Fabriano Mayor Daniela Ghergo expressed deep condolences, praising his dedication to teaching young athletes values of teamwork, loyalty, and respect.
