Torino adds Comuzzo and Fitz‑Jim in defence rebuild

Torino Football Club announced the arrival of two young defenders as part of a squad overhaul under coach Ignazio Abate. Pietro Comuzzo, a 2005‑born centre‑back, joined from Fiorentina on a loan costing €1 million with an option to buy for €19 million. The club highlighted his experience in Serie A and the UEFA Conference League, noting 91 senior appearances. Kian Fitz‑Jim, the 2003‑born Dutch midfielder, completed a permanent transfer from Ajax for a fee close to €3 million. Torino also secured Swiss defender Eray Cömert on a free transfer. The signings aim to address the 63 goals conceded last season, the second‑worst defensive record in Serie A, and to add quality to the midfield. Club officials, including former Ajax assistant Daniele Cavalletto and former player Diego Simeone, praised the newcomers for their professionalism and tactical fit.
