Giovanni van Bronckhorst appointed head coach of Feyenoord

Giovanni van Bronckhorst, the former Feyenoord player and 2017 title‑winning manager, has been confirmed as the new head coach of the Rotterdam club. He signed a two‑season contract with an option to extend for a third year and will be formally presented at a press conference in De Kuip, where technical director Dévy Rigaux will also speak.

Van Bronckhorst said the approach from Feyenoord felt like a strong appreciation and that he is excited to return to the club he loves. He highlighted his recent experience as Arne Slot’s assistant at Liverpool and his previous managerial roles in China, Scotland, and Turkey. He will bring Sipke Hulshoff as his assistant and retain existing staff members Saïd Bakkati and John de Wolf, while the club’s recent change in leadership saw Robin van Persie dismissed earlier this month.

The appointment marks the start of a new phase for Feyenoord, aiming to build on recent successes with the current squad and supporters.
