German entertainers discuss personal struggles and charity goals

Former No Angels singer Jessica Wahls has spoken candidly about her past financial struggles. During an appearance on the Radio Bremen talk show ‘3nach9’, Wahls revealed that despite the group's massive success, she experienced periods of absolute ruin and insolvency. She described her brief period of wealth as being a millionaire ‘for 0.23 seconds’ in Deutsche Marks before losing it all. Wahls has since rebuilt her career as a radio and event moderator in Leipzig.

In other entertainment news, musician and presenter Giovanni Zarrella is aiming to break a previous charity record with his upcoming ZDF Christmas show. Scheduled for December 3, 2026, at the Baden-Arena in Offenburg, the broadcast seeks to surpass the 3.6 million euros raised last year. The proceeds will benefit the aid organizations Brot für die Welt and Misereor.

Additionally, Zarrella recently shared personal reflections in a podcast regarding a period of identity crisis following the dissolution of the band Bro’Sis in 2006. He admitted to leading a ‘double life’ to hide his unemployment and uncertainty from his wife during that time.
