Giovanni Zarrella and Sister Maria: Schlager Star’s Career Story and Private Family Life

Maria Zarrella, known primarily as the sister of German‑Italian schlager singer and TV host Giovanni Zarrella, keeps a low public profile. Media reports note that she lives in Cologne, is partnered with Vincenzo, and gave birth to a daughter in 2020. She has spoken publicly about dealing with endometriosis and a long‑standing desire for children, but does not pursue a TV career of her own.

Giovanni Zarrella rose to fame after tricking venue managers at age 16‑17 by posing as an older manager to secure gigs for his teenage band. He later gained national attention as a member of the Popstars‑formed group Bro‘Sis and, after its 2006 breakup, revived his solo career with a 2019 album of Italian‑language versions of German schlager hits, reaching number two on the German album chart and earning a gold record. He currently appears as a contestant on the 13th season of the music show “Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert.”
