Amnesty International projects water‑rights documentary in Bisceglie

On 2 August 2026, the Italy Amnesty International group in Bisceglie, together with the cultural initiative 10 mila libri al Borgo, hosted a public screening of the documentary “Acqua in bocca”. The film, created by journalists Dora Farina and Marianna Donadio, investigates water management in the occupied Palestinian territories, highlighting the role of the Israeli water company Mekorot and a memorandum of understanding with the Italian utility Acea. The event, held at Piazza Duomo, framed the issue of water as a fundamental human right amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. It formed part of the “Consigli di lettura al tramonto” series, contributing to Bisceglie’s status as Italy’s first Book Town.

The screening included a dialogue with Farina, discussing field testimonies and the broader implications for international water law, corporate transparency, and human‑rights accountability.
