Giovinazzo hosts Regata dei Gonfaloni to decide Italian ten‑rower rowing champion

On 2 August 2026 the Regata dei Gonfaloni took place in Cala Porto, Giovinazzo, concluding the Trofeo Adriatico e del Mar Ionio for ten‑rower fixed‑seat rowing. The event, organised by the Associazione Vogatori “Massimo Cervone”, featured a start list that included the home crew Giovinazzo, Remuri Brindisi, and clubs from Molfetta, Vasto, Termoli, and even Dubrovnik. With 47 points ahead of Remuri Brindisi, the winner of the regatta will be crowned the Italian champion of the CSI.

The day's programme began with a mass at 08:30, followed by team accreditation, flag‑raising, and the first race at 10:00. After a midday break, the second race resumed at 16:30, and the awards ceremony was held at 19:30. The Cervone family – president Peppino Cervone and sporting director Francesco Cervone – oversaw the event, marking a culmination of years of effort to revive local rowing success.
