Gipf-Oberfrick hosts confirmation ceremony for 30 youths
In Gipf-Oberfrick, Switzerland, 30 youths from Frick, Gipf-Oberfrick, and Oeschgen received the sacrament of confirmation at the Catholic church. The ceremony was led by Abbot Christian Meyer from Engelberg, who administered the sacrament and encouraged the participants to maintain a living faith.
The candidates spent one year preparing for the event under the guidance of Ulrich Feger, focusing on themes of community, neighborly love, and personal faith. During the service, the group presented a collective credo, expressing belief in love, community, and hope.
Abbot Christian Meyer used the biblical parable of the wise and foolish virgins to illustrate that faith requires constant vigilance and care. To commemorate the occasion, the participants received small treasure boxes containing symbolic items, including a glass oil lamp, to serve as reminders of their spiritual journey.
