Giro d’Abruzzo cycling race to trigger road closures in Cupello and Oricola

The 2026 Giro d’Abruzzo cycling race will implement significant traffic and parking restrictions in Cupello and Oricola to facilitate the event stages.

In Cupello, preparations for the first stage (Cupello-Casalcontrada) on September 15 will trigger road changes starting September 14 at 8:00 AM. Restrictions include parking bans and transit prohibitions in Piazza Benicarlò, via Palmiro Togliatti, and near the Town Hall. On the morning of September 15, total traffic closures are planned for parts of via Marruccina, and a two-hour total circulation block will occur between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM along the race route.

In Oricola, the third stage (Oricola-San Benedetto dei Marsi) scheduled for September 17 will result in transit and parking limitations on September 16 and 17. These measures are intended for equipment setup and the race caravan. On the morning of the race, temporary total transit bans will be enforced on S.P. n. 27 del Cavaliere, specifically between Piazza San Rocco and Via Spineta.
