Giro della Toscana Femminile begins in Chiesina Uzzanese

The 30th edition of the Giro della Toscana Internazionale Femminile is scheduled to take place from August 27 to August 30. The event will feature over 160 athletes representing 27 teams, including 20 international squads and 7 Italian teams.

The race begins with an individual time trial in Chiesina Uzzanese on Thursday, August 27, featuring a 2 km course through the town center. The subsequent stages include a route from Serravalle P.se to Quarrata, a sprint-friendly stage from Segromigno Piano to Segromigno, and a final challenging stage from Lucca to Montecatini that includes eight climbs.

Organized by the Michela Fanini Cycling Society, the event honors the memory of Michela Fanini and her mother, Giulietta. Special guests for the festivities include former professional cyclist Michele Bartoli and Lithuanian champion Edita Pucinskaite. The title of Granduchessa will be contested following the departure of previous winner Eline Janssen.
