Giro di Campania returns 2026, starts at Reggia di Caserta

The Campania regional government has approved the revival of the historic Giro di Campania cycling race after a 25‑year hiatus. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Sunday, 20 September, with the start line at the UNESCO‑listed Reggia di Caserta and the finish in Naples’ Piazza del Plebiscito.

The route will cross the provinces of Caserta, Benevento, Avellino, Salerno and Napoli, passing through Agerola as a tribute to legendary cyclist Fausto Coppi. The project is backed by regional sports assessor Fiorella Zabatta, the Metropolitan City of Naples, local municipalities, the Italian Cycling Federation and the Professional Cycling League. Technical committees will soon finalize the exact course, safety measures and promotional events, aiming to make the race a permanent fixture in Italy’s national cycling calendar and to boost tourism and sport in the region.
