Giro d'Italia Ride Like a Pro brings 8,000 cyclists to São Paulo
The Giro d'Italia Ride Like a Pro will stage a 65‑kilometre amateur race through São Paulo on 23 August, starting and finishing at the Memorial da América Latina. The route will pass landmarks such as the Pacaembu and Sumaré avenues, the Marginal Tietê, the Municipal Market, the Cathedral of Sé, the Ipiranga Museum and the Tietê Ecological Park.
The event is part of a partnership with the Shimano Fest, Latin America’s largest bike festival, which runs from 20 to 23 August. Organisers expect more than 8,000 cyclists to take part, projecting an economic impact of around R$ 70 million for the city. Rogério Tancredi, marketing and commercial director of Shimano Latin America, called the collaboration “promising for both events”. The Brazilian edition is run by Logic Bridge, holder of the Ride Like a Pro rights in the country.
