Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa cycling race begins in Naples

The eleventh edition of the ‘Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa’, a women's open cycling competition, is taking place from September 18 to September 20. The event features 120 athletes representing 24 different teams from 14 nations, including Italy, Colombia, the United States, and Ukraine. Four UCI Continental Teams are participating: Isolmant - Premac - Vittoria, Team Mendelspeck e-work, Top Girls - Fassa Bortolo, and Vini Fantini - BePink.

The competition begins with a 1.7 km individual time trial in Frattamaggiore. The event concludes on September 20 in Caivano, where the historic 87th Coppa Caivano will be awarded. Originally established in 1910, the Coppa Caivano is one of Italy's oldest professional cycling races and has been revitalized as part of this women's circuit to maintain the sporting heritage of the Naples metropolitan area.
