Giroc Harvest Festival to fund children's placement center

The community of Giroc will host the Harvest Festival on September 26, 2026, to raise funds for the construction of a placement center for children at risk. Organized by the ‘Sfântul Dimitrie’ Orthodox Philanthropic Association, the event aims to provide a safe home for 12 children.

Due to expected high attendance, the festival has moved to a larger location on Bulevardul Aviației, behind the Giroc Military Unit School, which offers free parking. The event will feature significant gastronomic efforts, including 30 volunteer teams preparing over 10,000 portions of food, highlighted by a 1,000-liter cauldron and 8,000 sarmale.

The musical program includes headline performances by Horia Brenciu & HB Orchestra and Feli, alongside various folk and light music artists. Activities for children and seasonal product stands will also be available to support the fundraising goal.
