Girona Camping Foundation launches campaign to attract over 1 million tourists and raise funds

The Fundació Càmpings de Girona has begun a summer‑long initiative called “We Care on Tour”. About thirty camps across the Girona region will host a series of family‑friendly activities – sports races, workshops, cooking contests, music shows and more – from 20 July at Camping Bella Terra in Blanes through the end of August.

The campaign aims to draw more than one million visitors during July and August and to encourage each tourist to contribute a voluntary euro. The donations are earmarked for social, environmental and educational projects in the local comarques, building on previous fundraising that collected around €50 000 last year.

President of the Association of Girona Campsites and board member of the foundation, Miquel Gotanegra, said the effort demonstrates that tourism can generate direct social and ecological benefits for the municipalities that host it.
