Girona implements new accessibility measures for Sant Narcís Fairs
The Girona City Council has announced enhanced accessibility measures for the 2026 Sant Narcís Fairs to ensure a more inclusive experience for all attendees. New initiatives include Catalan sign language interpretation for the official proclamation and several concerts, including performances by Miki Núñez and Els Amics de les Arts.
To support attendees with sensory sensitivities, the city will provide vibrating backpacks for certain musical performances and establish three ‘Calm Spaces’ located at CaixaForum, the Palau de Fires, and Joan Maragall street. Additionally, on October 26, fair attractions will operate with adapted acoustic and lighting conditions specifically for children with special needs.
Mobility improvements include reserved areas at Plaça del Vi, the Copa, and the Cathedral steps, alongside 30 dedicated parking spaces in the Can Sarasa area. The city has also published a ‘Easy Read’ program to facilitate information access.
