Girona promotes mobility accessibility for seniors

The Girona City Council has organized a series of initiatives for European Mobility Week 2026, scheduled from September 16 to 22. The program aims to promote public transport, cycling, and walking, with a specific focus on creating a more inclusive and accessible city for people with reduced mobility.

One highlighted activity, ‘Mou-te en bici sense edat’ (Move by bike without age), is designed for seniors. In collaboration with ‘Mou-te en Bici’, the program offers adapted tricycle rides led by volunteers from various civic centers between October 1 and November 26. These one-hour excursions will serve small groups of four people across several locations, including Onyar, Sant Narcís, and Pont Major.

Additionally, the local administration, supported by the ECOM confederation, will release an audiovisual piece titled ‘Mobilitat accessible: una ciutat pensada per a tothom’ (Accessible mobility: a city designed for everyone) to raise awareness about urban environments and architectural barriers.
