GIRSU waste plant Module II to begin operations in Esquel

GIRSU Manager Mariana López Rey announced that Module II of the waste treatment plant is scheduled to begin formal operations this week. The delay in starting these operations was attributed to ongoing judicial processes involving the Superior Tribunal.

The agency is also advancing several community and environmental initiatives. The “Tejiendo Lazos” program, a circular economy project involving local seniors, collects unused textile materials to create blankets for the Esquel Zonal Hospital. Additionally, the agency has deployed over one hundred promoters to conduct environmental education campaigns and awareness talks in local schools.
