Gisèle Pelicot to visit Budapest for public speaking event

Gisèle Pelicot, a French woman who became an international symbol of resistance against sexual violence, is scheduled to visit Budapest on November 27. She will participate in a special event at the Radnóti Theatre, where she will personally share her story, discuss the power of public visibility, and speak about the possibility of new beginnings.

Pelicot gained global recognition in 2024 after choosing to waive her anonymity during her trial. Her former husband, Dominique Pelicot, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after it was revealed he had drugged her for years to facilitate sexual assaults by various men. Her decision to hold open court proceedings shifted the global conversation regarding victim shame and social responsibility.
