Giugliano puppy rescued after abandonment near hazardous waste captured on video
In the outskirts of Giugliano, a town in the province of Naples, Italy, a few‑month‑old puppy was left abandoned beside dangerous waste. Surveillance cameras operated by the Carabinieri Forestale of Pozzuoli recorded the act, allowing investigators to identify the man responsible. He has been charged with animal abandonment and illegal waste dumping, facing criminal penalties, administrative fines and possible loss of his driving licence.
The puppy was recovered by the Carabinieri, taken to the local ASL veterinary services, and treated for malnutrition and dehydration. After stabilisation it will be placed for adoption. The case has drawn community attention to the wider problem of animal abandonment in the area and prompted calls for greater civic responsibility and preventive education.
