The garment was designed by Diana Qerimi, who transformed heirloom lace pieces originally crafted by De Lellis’s great-grandmother, Linda, and grandmother, Lucilla, into a modern fashion piece.

De Lellis shared on Instagram that the dress represents the connection of three generations: the craftsmanship of her great-grandmother, the preservation efforts of her grandmother, and her own presence on the red carpet. The choice serves as a personal interpretation of upcycling, focusing on preserving intrinsic historical value and family stories rather than just sustainable reuse.
