Giulia Vecchio to Perform at La Notte della Taranta Concertone in Melpignano

Actress and imitator Giulia Vecchio will appear as a guest at the Concertone La Notte della Taranta on Saturday, 22 August 2026. The event takes place in the piazzale of the former Augustinian convent in Melpignano, Italy, and is part of the 29th edition of the festival, which is dedicated to the Mediterranean.

Vecchio will sing the traditional Salento folk song “L’acqua de la funtana” with the Orchestra Popolare, conducted by singer‑songwriter Ermal Meta and choreographed by Fredy Franzutti. The concert will be broadcast by Rai 3, Rai Radio 2, RaiPlay and San Marino RTV and features other guests such as Alessandra Amoroso, Gisela João, Levante, Maria Mazzotta and Welo. Vecchio said returning to perform in her native Salento is “a great joy and a huge responsibility.”

Trained at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, Vecchio has worked in television series, cinema, radio and live comedy, and has become a regular presence on Rai 2’s Bar Stella and Radio 2’s Social Club.
