Giulianova to host 2026 Tree Festival focused on soil health

The city of Giulianova will host the 2026 Tree Festival from November 16 to 21, organized by Co. N. Al. Pa. ETS in observance of National Tree Day. This year’s theme focuses on the importance of soil as a fundamental resource for ecosystems, water protection, and landscape preservation.

The week of events includes a reading marathon titled “Chioma di libri” involving local students, and the traditional “Un Albero per ogni Nuovo Nato e Adottato” ceremony at the Giulianova hospital, where a tree will be planted to honor children born or adopted in 2026.

A central scientific conference, “Sotto i nostri piedi,” will take place on November 19 at the Kursaal. The event will feature experts from institutions such as ISPRA and the Politecnico di Milano to discuss soil consumption, urban regeneration, and strategies to prevent soil sealing. The festivities will conclude on November 21 at Parco Matteotti.
