Giulio Ciccone linked to potential transfer from Lidl-Trek

Italian cyclist Giulio Ciccone may leave Lidl-Trek, according to reports suggesting interest from Pinarello-Q36.5 and Tudor Pro Cycling. Although Ciccone signed an extended contract with the German-based team through 2029, his future is uncertain following the departure of long-time team manager Luca Guercilena.

The potential transfer is linked to roster management issues at Lidl-Trek. Under UCI regulations, WorldTeams are limited to a maximum of 30 riders. Lidl-Trek currently has 32 riders under contract for 2027, creating a need to reduce the squad size.

Ciccone, a prominent climber and general classification contender with multiple Giro d'Italia stage wins and mountain jersey titles, would provide significant leadership for any team that secures his services.
