Giulio Pellizzari wins Giro della Toscana; Vuelta a España enters stage 18

Giulio Pellizzari of Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe won the 98th edition of the Giro della Toscana (Memorial Alfredo Martini) following a decisive attack 800 meters from the finish line in Pontedera. Pellizzari secured his sixth victory of the season, finishing ahead of Jordan Jegat (TotalEnergies) and Christian Scaroni (XDS Astana). The 189.4-kilometer race featured two climbs of Monte Serra.

In the Vuelta a España 2026, the competition moves into its 18th stage, an individual time trial of approximately 32.5 kilometers from El Puerto de Santa María to Jerez de la Frontera. Enric Mas (Movistar) currently holds the red jersey with a lead of 2:06 over Felix Gall. Primoz Roglic (Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe) sits in third place, 2:10 behind the leader, and is expected to use this stage to attempt to close the gap.

Additionally, the cycling calendar in the Valdera region continues with the 74th Coppa Sabatini in Peccioli, where Pellizzari is considered a top contender following his recent success in Tuscany.
